COMMUNITY HALL NEWS

Our Fall Celebration 2024 was a successful fundraising event. Thanks to everyone who came and enjoyed the food, music, bought silent auction items and had a good time. The event raised over $1,900.00 for our Volunteer Fire Department. We are already planning for next year. Mark your calendars for Saturday October 18, 2025.

A huge thank you to all volunteers who put in hours of work to make the event happen smoothly. Time spent cleaning the Hall (inside and outside), setting up tables, decorating, preparing and serving food, and cleanup on Saturday night and Sunday. It was a task everyone took to heart and it makes a difference for everyone to enjoy the event.

Our Community Hall has gone through many improvements this year with still more work to be done. With winter months approaching, work scheduling will be limited. We will reach out for more volunteers to help when needed. The volunteers who spent hours over the past 4 months have repaired parts of the foundation, replaced some siding, replaced the old inside electrical outlets, installed a UV water filtration system, installed a 2,500-gallon water supply tank, painted, and assembled a storage shed for grounds maintenance equipment. In addition, earlier in the spring, a standby generator was installed to provide power in the event of an outage. The majority of items purchased came from grant funding.

The new playground became possible, after many community parents of young children had requested it. The Piercy Fire Protection District found the available funds to purchase everything needed. The parents volunteered to prepare the area, assemble the kit and put up the chain link fencing. The playground is designed for children 2 to 10 years old to enjoy. A special thanks to Michael Horn for his leadership to get the project done.

The Piercy Fire Protection District received a grant to install four 5,000 gallon water tanks (total 20,000 gallons) before next fire season to provide water for our fire trucks. This will provide an improved supply in our community for faster response time.

We would like to encourage everyone to go to our website Piercyfire.org and join our mailing list under “contact”. This will help keep you informed of updates and news of Piercy Fire and Community Hall. Take advantage of our “comment” section, your voice is always welcome. Your donations are especially welcomed too!

In the coming months, we will be updating other events, community training, improvement work at the Hall and Fire preparedness for the 2025 fire season.

The Piercy Fire Protection District and Volunteer Fire Department thank you for your continued community support.

Larry Casteel, Commissioner
